Golden Girls

Golden Girls is a band originating from Worcester Massachusetts who have been playing quite a few particularly high energy shows and recently released a five song demo. Their music seems to be heading in a different direction than the other newer bands attempting what they're doing. Golden Girls manages to play an older form of punk while remaining unrestricted and not sounding like some generic cover band. It's really hard to believe that they aren't from the late 80's or early 90's. Worth the download. Really catchy.

Show at Earth Foods at Umass Amherst

it should start at around 7-8pm!

Monday, September 8, 2008

Want to play shows at umass amherst?

Recently, earworms, a radio show at umass, got the green light to hold shows at Earth Foods Cafe inthe student union. We're trying our hardest to get good music into umass and make shows accessible to all of the college students, or anyone else in the area, without cars or any means of traveling to ny, ct, or providence frequently. If you have any interest in playing a show, contact me so i can get a list started of bands interested off the bat and begin to plan shows out. If you have any requests, ideas, concerns, or would like to set up your own show on a specific date (a stop on a tour?) please don't hesitate to contact me.

thanks

Mammal

this album has some of the best noise

it has alot of daringly high pitched sounds,
and accurate build up, and a relavent climax to the preceding build up,
it really is one of the best noise albums i have ever heard,
deffinatly worth the download!

all tracks are untitled,
and track one is my favorite

Fog III

Chromatics

one of my all time favorite albums

i'm not into the new stuff,
just plaster hounds and some of their splits,

not a hard find, but an incredible album nevertheless!

Athletic Automaton

This includes their two major releases,
as well as their two splits

A Journey Through Roman's Empire

5 Days in Africa

collaboration and split with AIDS wolf

Clash of the Life-Force Warriors

It is nice to see them do a split,
because both bands have ex-Arab on Radar members;
Athletic Automaton has Steve Mattos,
and
Made in Mexico has Jeff Schneider.

Black Eyes and Hand-Fed Babies

Three Black Eyes Albums:
Two of them are pretty easy to find,
but the split is a little more difficult
but i felt it would be more convienient
to just put them all in one place

Black Eyes

Cough

Shut Up, I Never

AND

One Hand-Fed Babies album,
which is the project that Hugh McElroy of Black Eyes
participated in, and is still in post-Black Eyes.
its really good and is a lot different than the Black Eyes sound.
The voice is easily recognizable, but he uses it
in a very, very different way.

Hand-Fed Babies

Dmonstrations

they were hard for me personally to find,
so i felt i should share them,
i uploaded them on mediafire
